Strategy and Technology lays the path for Nokia’s future technology innovation and identifies the most promising areas for Nokia to create new value. We set the company’s strategy and technology vision, offer an unparalleled research foundation for innovation, and provide critical support infrastructure for Nokia.
Job Location- Espoo Finland, Murray Hill NJ USA primarily; other locations will be considered as well.
What you will learn and contribute to
The Technology Strategy and Portfolio unit is responsible for Nokia’s Technology Strategy. You are a recognized expert in your field, capable of seeing and presenting the newest technology trends that have both relevance and impact to Nokia and its customers.
Internally, you are capable of contributing to and disseminating white papers, trainings, and providing direction in terms of technology position and strategy on important topics in your area. You can guide the business and product units towards the right direction. You regularly engage with stakeholders from relevant Business Groups and the broader Strategy and Technology Unit to discuss, fine tune and eventually create internal traction and alignment on topics of interest. If needed, you challenge current beliefs to prepare defense or offense for disruption.
In customer meetings, you conduct technical deep-dive sessions on topical technology issues, presenting the Nokia technology message to the customer’s technical experts. You regularly engage in technical discussions with external suppliers, partners and industry bodies to gain an understanding of and direct upcoming industry trends.
You understand both the technology, and the governance of the Telecom networks of today. This role will focus on new technology areas for Nokia. It will be your task to identify, evaluate, and track industry trends and innovations that might be valuable to Nokia’s activities. You will identify and provide technical advice on related investment priorities and/or opportunities for Nokia, ranging from major technological and potentially disruptive hardware/software innovations to novel concepts.
Your skills and experience
- Proven deep technical skills in one or more areas of telecom technology including networking, cloud, security, AI, usability, software, hardware and system on chips
- Broad interest and curiosity in other technology areas
- An ability to see how the technologies fit together with each other and with the business
- Capability to recognize, understand, and represent impactful industry trends
- Capability to provide a positive impact for Nokia
- Ability to present complex technical issues in an understandable way
- Ability to provide guidance even when facing opposition, while listening and understanding business and product realities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with excellent command of written and spoken English language
