Preferred/Desired Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge in the design and deployments of coherent interfaces over subsea cables

Experience on subsea cable upgrades
- Practical experience in development and modelling of link engineering rules and optical network characteristics
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Working experience in project management
- Working experience in addressing RFx
- Background in optical communication and knowledge of the main transmission impairments affecting the optical channel
- Background on coherent transmission and high speed coherent interfaces
- Background on the design of OADM architectures for subsea and terrestrial transmission
- Knowledge of optical communication and relevant standards (WDM, OTN, SDH, etc.)
- Familiarity with Nokia optical products is a plus
- Familiarity with optical simulation tools is a plus

Education
Preferably:
- Engineering or Physicist studies in Telecommunication and/or Optics a;
- Master in Optics or Telecommunication or Electronic Engineering;
- PhD degree.
