The team you’ll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

 

What you will learn and contribute to

Our team is specifying and creating world leading System-on-Chip designs and IP blocks with the latest FPGA and ASIC technologies for our radio products. As a part of the Espoo SoC software team, you will participate in SW domain analysis, SW architecture and specification activities and SW implementation.

Based on your level of experience you independently create new functionalities and write tests for your code. You are familiar with Agile methodology, DevOps and continuous integration tools. You have experience from real SW projects and you are familiar with related development tools.
You have high motivation to learn and work in international teams. Day to day activities include a lot of co-operation and we expect You to be proactive person with a fluent communication in English.With us, you will design products and solutions that will shape future of our 5G systems.

Candidate writes requirements, specifications and other guiding documentation for R&D from product, program or system point of view. Carries responsibility of design blocks and model, implement and verify design according specifications. High contribution to project milestones by solving and avoiding complex problems, through understanding dependencies across product and system boundaries. Coaches other team members in solving advanced engineering problems at system component level.
The responsibilities include following tasks:
Contribute and participate to SoC and LTE/5G system architecture development and requirement management

  • Creating and specifying IP blocks and subsystems to ASICs and FPGA’s with latest technology.

  • Leading or performing design, verification and implementation tasks

  • Participating on algorithm design and modeling. Developing fixed-point reference models for baseband IP SW and HW

  • Cooperating with system engineers, HW/SW development, suppliers and other relevant functions to solve technical issues.

  • Supporting HW/SW bring-up and debug.


Your skills and experience
You are comfortable to write C/C++ for embedded systems. You are familiar with DSP programming.

  • Master’s Degree in SW Engineering or equivalent

  • 3-10+ years working experience in embedded SW

  • Good understanding of digital signal processing and related mathematics

  • Hands-on knowledge of C/C++, debugging tools and some scripting language e.g. python DSP/ASIP programming know how

  • Understanding VHDL/Verilog language and design debugging methods

  • Knowledge of SoC (low level SW/ASIC/FPGA/) design

  • Basic understanding of Cellular networks and 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G technology

  • Fluent spoken and written English

  • Several years working experience in developing ASIC/FPGAs or low level SW.

  • Excellent VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog/UVM/Synthesis knowhow and solid coding and modeling experience

  • Excellent understanding of the SoC (ASIC/FPGA/Low level SW) design flow and process.

  • Solid knowledge of SoC (ASIC/FPGA/low level SW) design and verification tools.

  • Pro-activity and independent problem solving through own experience and network.

  • Solid background in wireless/telecom systems. Knowledge of physical layers (LTE/5G L1/L2)

  • Capability of presenting complicated and abstract concepts in simple manner for variety of audiences

  • Project leading and managing experience or scrum master certificate is a plus.
