The team you'll be part of
Core Network / Technology and Innovation team is working on subjects of high interest and complexity, with the purpose of ensuring long term success of the Core business from technology perspective. Topics like: Network slicing, 5G service mash, Open networks and APIs, Network as a service, Core network Security, Automation and Serviceability, Public cloud deployment. The team is working out high level architecture on such topics, together with the R&D, CTO, Bell Labs teams, creating PoCs and customer demos, and engage with major customers on such technology topics.
What you will learn and contribute to
This position is focusing on Automation and Serviceability, which is a major topic for Core Networks in both the CNF and VNF setups. Automating design, delivery, upgrade and troubleshooting is pivotal for the long term success of Core Networks.
In the position, the architect is expected to drive those automation and serviceability improvement activities form the technical perspective, by guiding and harmonizing the R&D activities for a coherent and uniform solution, including product development as well as the development of supporting tooling..
It requires deep understanding of deployment/configuration design for core VNF/CNFs and their onboarding/update/upgrade, as well as troubleshooting methods and tooling being used by CARE.
Core operations and management is investigating the use of ML and expert systems. Experience on the ML or expert systems areas are an advantage.
Your skills and experience
- 8+ years of relevant Development/Test/Architecture experience on Telco grade products.
- An Expert Python Programmer with hands on experience.
- Good exposure to database concepts and hands on experience on Relational Databases and NoSQL databases.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Must display a high degree of willingness and ability to understand a new business domain, a new product, the product’s business and technical underpinnings.
- Must display a high degree of ownership and commitment towards assigned work
- Skill set required:
- Python, Go and Java(Good to have)
- JIRA
- Git
- GitLab
- Containers/Docker, K8s, Shell scripting (good to have), Jenkins, writing pipelines in jenkins

- Expectations:
- Advanced knowledge of Python
- Knowledge of STL
- Understanding of Agile development lifecycle
- Motivation to expand the knowledge and continuously improve processes and tools
- Graduate in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or Software Technology or an equivalent education
- Effective communication in English (both written and spoken)
- Writing unit test cases for automation testing. Unit and Automation Testing frameworks
- Nice to have:
- Basic knowledge of React
- Basic knowledge in UX design
- Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Qualifications
- Graduate in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or Software Technology or an equivalent education
- Effective communication in English (both written and spoken)
- Good knowledge of Mobile/Cloud Core technologies
- Knowledge and interest on Cloud Computing, 4G/5G core networks
- Understanding of 5G/4G core network architectures and services
- Capability to explain complex technical topics/concepts to smaller or bigger audience
- Background in Distributed Systems / IT, Software and Virtualization Technologies
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Experience working with customer teams and customers is an advantage
