SoC Software Architect

 

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced technical expert focusing on SoC software architecture in 5G chip-sets. You will be working with chip-set software architecture and specialised processing engines for Layer 1 processing, including DSPs and ASIPs (Application Specific Instruction set Processor). Your architect role will include co-ordination with a wide set of stakeholders from several development units, development and alignment of APIs, and writing technical specifications of SW architectures. Also, you’ll prepare proposals for decision making in architecture decision teams. As part of your work, you’ll contribute to SoC and SoC software strategy and work with long-term technology development projects. This includes planning the transition to 6G together with Bell Labs and preparing SoC platforms for pre-6G demonstrators.

Requirements

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • You have 10+ years background from development of ASIC/FPGA hardware, software or algorithms in wireless/telecom systems.
  • You have good understanding of architecture and specification work related to FPGA/ASIC/SoC, or signal processing systems development.
  • Good understanding of programmable processing architectures, such as RISC and DSP processors.
  • Solid skills in embedded C/C++ programming.
  • Good understanding of ASIC development.
  • Experience in leading agile development.
  • Experience as technical leader in (a sub-domain of) product development.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, including technical support for making agreements and contracts.
  • Fluent verbal communication and writing skills in English language.
  • MSc or PhD in engineering, computer science or equivalent.

The following additional skills or experience are valued:

  • Experience with simulation platforms, e.g. Matlab or System C.
  • Solid skills in embedded real-time software and scripting (Ruby, Python or similar).
  • Experience with Linux and real-time operating systems.
