The team you'll be part of


Our Mobile Networks Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will be part of our Digital Front End (DFE) ASIC team where more than 100 professionals are working on Nokia ReefShark family of System-on-Chips (SoC): ReefShark | Nokia Networks


We are responsible of custom silicon which is a key element in our strategy to gain technology leadership in 5G networks. We are working with state-of-the art tools and have access to latest silicon technologies. Our team is diverse with 13 different nationalities represented. Working language is English.



What you will learn and contribute to


As a member of SoC organization you can focus on Processor Subsystem digital design area. As a Design engineer for PSS (Processor Subsystem) you can participate in SoC development from start to finish. From outlining the SoC system design, Processor Subsystem and System-on-Chip top-level activities and follow-up the design process all the way up to SoC validation in a lab. You get to work with various design groups across different disciplines (RTL design, verification, implementation) to meet integration requirements by using the best-in-class methodologies.


Your tasks can include for example following tasks:

  • Preparation and review of functional and design specification for Processor Subsystem
  • RTL design of PSS subsystem related IP functionality from top-level down to block level
  • Verifying logic functionality and code design/implementation.
  • Integrate IPs and release Subsystem to top-level with the IPxact package flow
  • Develop the scripts and the flow to get the required results within the scheduled milestones
  • Analyze log and report files to ensure the tools are getting the required results
  • Support HW/SW Bring-up and debug


Your skills and experience


You have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years working experience in FPGA/ASIC/SoC development
  • Familiar with digital design and UNIX/LINUX environment
  • Experience of scripting languages like TCL, Python and Perl is beneficial
  • Good knowledge of ARM standards, processors and interconnects
  • Good knowledge of SoC (ASIC/FPGA) design and verification tools
  • Understanding of Cellular networks and 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G technology
  • Fluent spoken and written English


It would be nice if you also had some of these skills:

  • Understanding of digital signal processing and related mathematics
  • Understanding of cellular networks and related technologies (4G/5G)
  • Experience on design debugging methods
  • Experience or understanding of High-Level-Synthesis and High-Level-Verification
  • Verification experience in areas like CPU’s, interrupts, AXI, bus/cache, IO’s, DRAM controllers
