Service Validation Manager
 
Job Role Description
 

Service Validation Manager is leading Nokia’s inhouse Europe VAT compliance team which is responsible for over 60 legal entities’ VAT return in around 30 countries. VAT compliance is handled by an outsource service provider however review and monitoring activity is handled by team to be led by the Service Validation Manager. Responsiblity covers end-to-end VAT process for the entities concerned including data extraction, preparation, submission, reconciliation, SOX controls and related journal entries.

 
Job Key Tasks & Responsibilities
 
  • Manages the VAT compliance activity within own area in accordance with the agreed targets.
  • Expert contact for complex VAT issues.
  • Ensures implementation of new standard operating procedures and the application of quality procedures in VAT area.
  • Ensures compliance with Nokia accounting principles, internal controls policies and reporting procedures, as well as with external rules and regulations.
  • Maintains productive relationships with internal / external stakeholders and authorities.
  • Acts as a professional leader for the team who serves as best practice resource within own organisational unit and / or is recognised as an expert within the same professional area
  • Monitors the fulfillment of service level agreements and take the necessary measures for improvement if needed to ensure VAT compliance
  • Accountable for VAT compliance in Europe according to defined KPI’s and SLAs
  • Ensures that changes in Nokia tax master data are shared timely with EY
  • Continuously monitors performance, proposing and implementing process improvement to increase process consistency, quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Acts as escalation point with regards to VAT compliance related activities
  • Assists in issue remediation cases
  • Partner for issues arising from projects or daily business concerning accounting
  • Align with and engage Nokia internal teams and EY in VAT compliance flows
  • Management of identification and evaluation of risks, reporting of identified and evaluated risks,  manages and contributes to mitigation of risk
  • Ensures that the right process exists in own responsibility area, develop and define process flows
  • Provides support and coordination of process implementation together with Project Team in own responsibility area
  • Support execution of process standardization initiatives from EY
  • Responsible for change management related to Digitax Services
  • Manages team, handles task and resource allocation

Requirements
  • Typically requires 5-8 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate/ postgraduate equivalent degree.
  • Native hungarian and fluent english language skills are required
  • VAT and vendor management experience
