The team you'll be part of

Bell Labs Core Research is seeking a post-doctoral or senior level candidate for a position in the wireless program at our Stuttgart location. Successful candidates are expected to pursue internationally recognized projects on topics related to wireless communication systems. The candidate should have strong research skills with outstanding analytical/theoretical capabilities and prototyping experience. Our team is involved in design and implementation of novel 5G advanced/6G features both on FPGA-based, SoC-based and GPU/GPP-based platforms.

What you will learn and contribute to

 

  • Carry out ground-breaking research in design of wireless air interfaces and/or access networking, performance assessment and prototyping.
  • Bring strong research knowledge and expertise to a cross-disciplinary team
  • Contribute to the definition of technical foundations for research programs, project objectives and work plans.
  • Create new intellectual property through patents, and publications in scientific journals and conferences
  • Create and maintain strong collaborative associations with university-based researchers, other leading research bodies, product business units and government agencies.

 

Your skills and experience

 

  • Either PhD or Master of Science with 4 years industrial experience in electrical engineering, communications engineering, physics, or a related discipline
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of communication systems, detection and estimation theory, baseband signal processing algorithms
  • Ability to switch between high-level systems view and low-level detail view of complex wireless systems.
  • Solid knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR standard
  • Solid background on at least one of FPGA-based, SoC-based and GPU/GPP-based platforms.
  • Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to team-oriented projects.
  • A successful candidate will be versatile, flexible, hands-on, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment amongst business as well as academic partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, can express him/herself fluently in English
