The team you’ll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will be working in Architecture & Specification team in System-on-Chip Development Unit. Our team is responsible to define and drive best in class SoC technologies, IPs and architectures for Nokia wireless network SoCs. We work in close co-operation with product management, other development units and build the future with Nokia Bell Labs research organization.

 

What you will learn and contribute to

Senior R&D Engineer

 

We are looking for Senior R&D Engineer to join our Architecture and Specification unit in Espoo, Finland.

 

Nokia is developing world leading 5G networks. Within Nokia’s Mobile Networks unit, we are a specialized team designing HW and SW platform components for base stations and we are looking for a new motivated team member.

 

Your tasks would be to assist in defining, architecting, and dimensioning the processor subsystem for our future products for 5G and 6G. Each product and generation have unique requirements for processor subsystems. You know characteristics of processor architecture, performance, and basics of simulation.  You can model workloads to evaluate processors performance at their early stage.

What we require from you:

  • Advanced knowledge on various processor architectures
  • Background on simulation related to system and SW performance profiling
  • Experience on system and workload modeling
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Good communication and collaboration
  • Positive, active, and enthusiastic attitude

 

What we appreciate:

  • Multicore architecture knowledge
  • Experience on C/C++ programming and scripting
  • Networking protocol knowledge (e.g. TCP, IP, IPsec)
  • Familiarity with version control tools, e.g. git
