Strategy and Technology lays the path for Nokia’s future technology innovation and identifies the most promising areas for Nokia to create new value. We set the company’s strategy and technology vision, offer an unparalleled research foundation for innovation, and provide critical support infrastructure for Nokia.
The Strategic Partnerships group is part of Nokia’s centralized Strategy and Technology organization. We work in a collaborative model to drive external corporate partnerships, strategic M&A assessments, and ecosystem building. A key focus area for the Strategic Partnerships Group is to enhance Nokia’s innovation framework – to realize the commercial impact of internal incubation and the strategic impact of external investment activities.
As part of the innovation framework, we are building a new internal incubator to take innovative new ideas and commercialize them as new businesses. One of the first ventures is building new solutions for both enterprise customers and CSPs for situational awareness leveraging latest video and audio innovations. We are now strenghtening our R&D team to commercialize the offering.
What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:
- Design and develop cloud SW architectures with an emphasis on distributed/real-time media processing
- Contribute to the team’s software and systems development tasks, in alignment with business unit goals
- Define and contribute to testing and integration of SW components of the solution for different customer-required deployment architectures
- Partners with the Product Manager and engineering team to align the technical design and strategy with the product roadmap
- Designing and implementing a long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining product’s cloud SW architecture
- Responsible for prototyping complex, cross platform business solutions to validate newer technologies
- Contribute to DevOps and product lifecycle process from software design, development, integration, testing, verification and product deployment perspectives
Your skills and experience
You have:
- Several years of experience in a comparable position including architecting cloud-native solutions.
- Several years of experience in software development and engineering of multimedia systems, including video streaming, augmented reality and XR
- Several years of experience as the role of cloud SW engineer with knowledge in HW virtualization, edge/centralized cloud processing is a bug plus
- Experience in multimedia frameworks such as GStreamer and FFMPEG is a bug plus
- Knowledge on topics such as video coding, augmented reality systems, real-time multimedia communication, WebRTC, RTP/RTCP based streaming, AR and XR media systems is a big plus
- BSc, or MSc. from a relevant field of computer science, electrical engineering, signal processing or similar discipline
- Highly creative and have an understanding of IPR processes as well
- Knowledge on containerization and virtualization in Kubernetes, Docker
- Knowledge on AWS, Azure, GCP service deployments and lifecycle management
- Knowledge of technologies such as H.265, H.264, RTP/RTCP, RTSP, SIP, WEBRTC, MPEG audio, MPEG ISOBMFF file formats and fragmented MP4 is a big plus
- Expert knowledge on C and Python, good knowledge of C++. Knowledge of GPU programming, OpenGL and Javascript is a big plus
- Experience in analysing balance between local deployment vs. Private cloud vs. Public cloud
- Competencies in building solutions on public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience in leveraging device and application management systems to deploy and manage cloud applications
- Very good communication skills in English and being a team player
