RnD Manager
Job description
Manages scrum leads,
software engineers performing multiple and varied engineering tasks and
specialties. Responsible for developing work plans, establishing technical
objectives and assigning tasks. Monitors the completion of tasks within time
and ensures that technical and functional objectives are met. Identifies and
recommends changes to established practices and policies. Regularly interacts
with Product Line Managers, Domain lead, peer managers/scrum leads, and
employees within and beyond a function. Works closely with leadership and
management in the US around product and organizational direction and
strategy. Requires in-depth technical and operational knowledge within
area of responsibility. Often plays a proactive role in developing and applying
new approaches to engineering design and development. Authorizes the resources
necessary to achieve organizational goals. Participates in and is accountable
for cross functional initiatives and collaboration, which may have significant
impact on business results.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of
20+ (and growing) highly capable architects, project owners, developers and
testers working across different care & provisioning solutions, cloud
platform, analytics and database technologies

Own talent
hiring, allocation and optimum utilization across the organization
·
Establishing
goals & objectives for team and manages the team to ensure that goals are
met within specified timeframe and software/projects meet quality standards.
·
Lead & motivate
technical teams, mentor, grow, and relentlessly enable each member of your team
to reach their full potential.
·
Establish and
spearhead usage of Agile software development methodology and drive
standardization of processes across the entire engineering and technology group
·
Work with
cutting-edge technologies
·
Plan, execute,
and deliver on-time core product functionality in a dynamic environment.
·
Streamline
quality assurance, test and validation processes and ensure proper usage of
engineering and testing tools
·
Working in a
fast-paced environment where you need to discover as you move forward and still
maintain control and manage the team to the committed goals

Identify areas of
risk or weakness and proactively address before such becomes unmanageable
Required Skills:
- BE/ME/B.Tech/MTech CS, CE, EE
or related field of study.
- Software Engineering expert
with 15+ years of experience including 5+ years managing large (15+
people) international teams developing large applications, products.
- Should be able to understand
complex technical systems and have "good taste" in
architecture.
- A sense for technical detail-
know when to delegate and when to back off, but should be able to make
sure things are just right
- Hands-on experience developing J2EE
, web-based consumer applications especially in the NMS, EMS , Care
domains
- Strong Foundation of relational
and no-sql databases
- Strong knowledge of frameworks
like Spring, Hibernate
- Strong technical skills
covering Java/J2EE, web based development tools, scalable application
development techniques to build large transactional systems
- Well versed with code review,
refactoring and CI.
- Knowledge of modern UI/html developments
(AngularJS, React), mobile apps, etc. is an added advantage
- Experience in driving , managing
projects for Cloud enablement & transformation using AWS, OpenStack is
a plus.
