The Murray Hill based Indoor Networks Research team is looking for a Research Scientist in the field of localization, mobile networks and services. You will identify and develop ground-breaking indoor localization and networking solutions and services for future mobile access networks.
 
You will act as a prime reference in localization and networking-oriented software system research in close cooperation with business, academic and industrial partners.
 
You will create new intellectual property through research platforms, protocols and system solutions which will contribute to differentiating and market leading Nokia products.
So, what are we looking for?
 
You will have a PhD in engineering sciences (electrical, telecom, computer science), specialized in wireless or computer networking.
 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors/MS/Ph.D. in Engineering (CS, EE, others), Mathematics or similar field.
  • Prior experience in applying machine learning techniques to multisensory data like radar, lidar, cameras, IMU, GPS, and other sensors.
  • Familiarity with SLAM, 3D reconstruction, and calibration.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills required.
  • Ability to write high-quality code and produce demonstrable results in the real-world application.
  • Publications or related contributions to GitHub open source project in the field of computer vision and its applications to robotics field is a strong plus.
  • GPU programming experience is preferred.
  • Computer skills: Python, C/C++, Linux, Matlab, Tensorflow, Caffe, CUDA

Additional Skills:

  • Should be a self-starter, willing to collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects.
Familiarity with version-controlled SW, task management tool usage, and generic documentation process
