Research Scientist
Required Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
- Candidates must have a PhD in civil engineering, environmental science, computer science or any related field.
- At least 2-3 year’s professional experience in risk mitigation and proactive predictions concerning natural disasters
- A proven track record of high-quality research publications in major international conferences and an in-depth understanding of natural process modeling, like hydrology, is required.
- The candidate must be able to demonstrate published research related to flash flooding and hydrologic processes, participation in scientific conferences as a hydrologic specialist/panelist, and job experience in a research related organization or in a teaching capacity.
- Candidates are expected to have the ability to conduct independent research supporting revenue goals while also contributing to team-oriented projects that often span across multiple Nokia sites.
- A successful candidate will be versatile, flexible, hands-on, and a self-starter.
- Experience in software development activities is also highly valued.
- Strong written and spoken communications skills and the ability to participate in robust discussions in English are required.
