R&D Lab Administrator - Fixed Networks
Desired Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
• Prior experience with maintaining the calibration of test equipment.
• Virtualization knowledge required – proxmox and/or ovirt preferred
• Network Monitoring System experience required – cacti, Nagios preferred.
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
• Basic collegiate degree or relevant certifications in Electrical or Electronics courses.
• Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working as a Lab Administrator in large Telecom or Networking R&D labs and/or managing Data Centers.
• Hands-on experience using tools such as crimpers to build cables, electrical equipment handling and use of power meters to measure current draw and circuit loading.
• Experience with installation of rack mountable devices such as servers, switches, routers, test equipment and traffic generators.
• Familiar with maintaining safety conditions in R&D Labs w.r.t proper ESD protection, grounding of equipment & proper fastening of mounted devices.
• CCNA or equivalent knowledge and experience required
• Experience with working on lab inventory management and book-keeping of cables, fibers, optics, couplers, connectors, attenuators, power cords, power strips, etc.
