Job Description

Radio Frequency Layer 1 Low Software Tribe consists of ~200 experts currently in Oulu, Hangzhou and Nanjing. We will soon establish a new SW development team in Espoo and is looking for several motivated professionals to the following positions:

  • SW Engineers (several positions open)
  • Scrum Master
  • Local Product Owner
  • Technical Specialist/Leader
  • Specification Engineer
  • Team Leader

With our commitment to radio research and development, driven by Mobile Networks RF Development Unit, we deliver the best-in-class radios for mobile networks. RF L1Low Tribe is over two hundred persons and almost ten different nationalities community. 
Our collaboration with multiple teams is both local and global.

RF L1Low SW is responsible for specifying, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining radio products’ software for LTE and 5G radio access technologies and for massive MIMO and beam forming functionalities. We are divided into self-organizing scrum teams, working in Agile environment. Our products are developed mainly in C++, including those close to hardware. A common and clearly defined vision, open communication and a deep passion for innovation are the features that best describe our work environment and its unique atmosphere. Job Responsibilities & Competencies

SW Engineers
-    Responsible for development of assigned piece of SW to meet expected Definition of Done
-    Responsible for code and test review
-    Responsible for troubleshooting (including logging) improvements
-    Fault analysis and correction of issues

Main competence

  • C++ knowledge
  • basic knowledge of embedded Linux
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

 

Scrum Master
-    Facilitate the scrum related work of the Squad/Team or Group of Squads/Teams
-    Gate keeper for the Scrum Framework, facilitating Scrum events as needed
-    Acts as the Agile coach for the Agile Squad/Team
-    Removes barriers between Scrum Teams and relevant stakeholders

Main competence

  • SW development experience
  • Knowledge of Agile way of working and scrum framework
  • excellent communication skills
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

 

Local Product Owner
-    Ownership of Squad/Team Product Backlog items (elements from decomposed Product Backlog affecting Squad/Team)
-    Responsible for Squad/Team Pipeline
-    Defining Squad/Team level User Stories
-    Helps to provide input for Product Backlog Refinement
-    Responsible for following DoD and for declaring Squad/Team Product Backlog items as done

Main competence

  • SW development experience
  • Knowledge of Agile way of working and scrum framework
  • excellent communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of project planning
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

 

Technical Specialist/Leader
-    Responsible for development of assigned piece of SW/HW to meet expected Definition of Done
-    Specialized/Expert in defined area of competence (Testing or Code)
-    Code/Area Guard responsibility (ownership of particular piece of code)
-    Provides directions and support for other team members in the areas of technical problems, processes and operations
-    Active participation in planning, designing of code implementation or test area coverage
-    Defines, verifies, and reviews requirements and technical documentation related to implementation of new features and maintenance of legacy features
-    Performs business analysis, risks, problems etc. and making decisions within the limits of authority and own expertise area

Main competence

  • C++ knowledge
  • Real time programming knowledge
  • experience of embedded Linux
  • SW architecture understanding
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

 

Specification Engineer
-    Create Entity level functional specifications (EFS) mapping customer user stories to requirements
-    Becomes Lead Entity Specification Engineer (responsible for CFAM approval process) for features with major impact on own component/domain
-    Being engaged into feature development process till feature is released

Main competence

  • Strong background SW specification and architecture
  • good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written

 

Team Leader
-    First line manager handling day-to-day people topics. Responsible for competence development, people management and engagement. Solid line manager for all squad group members.
-    Ownership of development items within own squads (assign development items, feature owners, secure delivery of e2e integrated features in (virtual) feature teams)
-    Backlog HC allocation planning and commitments.

Main competence

  • Experience in people management as line or project manager
  • General understanding in SW development process, methods and tools.
  • Effective teamwork, co-operation, change management and communication/influencing skills
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written
