Description
The main responsibility of this role is to drive the design for both board and system level power systems. Model power roll-up at the chip, board and system level. Develop new techniques for power efficiency in our products and work with cross functional teams on improving the power designs and the understanding of interactions of designs in the overall systems.
Design, implement, debug, characterize embedded/discrete DC/DC voltage regulators (topologies include multi-phase, multi-output, buck, boost, linear, switching, etc.)
Work with power component vendors (ICs, FETs, power inductors, etc.) to be on top of the latest technological/efficient/cost effective options commercially available
Help facilitate worldwide regulatory compliance/safety submittals and certifications (UL, CSA, TUV, CE, CB, CCC, BSMI) at power supply and system levels.
Responsible for board level architecture and design of board mounted POL, power delivery circuits including hot-swap, and supervisory circuitry
Daily use of Schematic capture, simulation, PCB CAD tools and documentation.
Bring up of initial prototypes, debugging of system power issues and collaborate with other teams (mechanical, signal integrity, layout, component etc).
