The Nokia 1830 Optical Networking team is expanding and looking for highly motivated professionals to join us to further enhance network flexibility and operational automation in a very fast growing and competitive environment.
 
Job Position Summary Description:
As an integral part of the 1830 Optical Networking Product Line Management team, this PLM leader will be action-oriented, disruptive and will drive innovation while being responsible for defining the capabilities, features and functions of next generation, revenue generating product offerings complementing our 1830 PSS networking transport infrastructure.  

Key Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Partner with customers, your product manager peers, engineering, technical marketing, and business development to identify, define and execute new programs
  • Manage the product lifecycle of the product from launch to end of life activities
  • Be a key product line advocate to your product management peers & business development / sales teams
  • Translate customer needs into clearly defined solution and product requirements considering available solutions and competitive environment
  • Drive product requirements into the Optical Networking product management team and ensure the successful delivery and implementation of product roadmaps of the product groups, either through internal or external R&D
  • Build the business case for new business development and obtain executive buy in for new initiatives. Develop and maintain the key product metrics in conjunction with the Optical Networking product management team.
  • Keep current on competitive environment and technologies to support responses to vulnerabilities and leverage strengths and differentiators
  • Develop and implement the product structure and pricing strategy for each product in conjunction with the Optical Networking product management team
  • Work closely with the operations group on the creation and maintenance of long range sell in and sell through forecasts
  • Perform market analysis, cost analysis, pricing analysis, and product forecasting
  • Build trusted relationships and be able to influence key executives

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

  • 7+ years of experience with telecom products.  Must have minimum 5 years of product management experience, or previous experience in strategy development, business development, partnership development, and/or solutions marketing.
  • Product management / business acumen – understand Go To Market requirements for networking solutions
  • Degree in engineering or commercial engineering; MBA or advanced degree is an asset.
  • Must be comfortable working collaboratively across many groups within the organization including sales, business development, product management, marketing, services & support, manufacturing/operations, program management, legal, and finance
  • High energy and ability to influence/lead others; willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Great project-management skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Must possess deep technical and operational understanding of telco, cable and broadcast solutions with a demonstrated understanding of market requirements for Optical, Ethernet and/or IP/MPLS networking solutions
  • Excellent understanding of the industry landscape (competitors and partners)
  • Ability to shift from high-level thinking to realistic and pragmatic execution is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills: ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and customers; proficiency in conflict management, negotiation, and presentation/demonstration
  • Willingness and ability to work with teams, ability to build relationships using an open and respectful communication and collaboration style 

Desired Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

  • 10 years of increasing responsibility for positioning and delivering networking solutions including optical, Ethernet and IP networking offering
  • Demonstrable experience in identifying changing business models, and ability to associate these to changing solution/product and architecture requirements
  • Strong internal consulting skills to work with external and internal customers in driving their architecture needs and will routinely deliver presentations to stakeholders

·        Demonstrable knowledge and experience of related technologies and applications such as business/cloud services, broadband backhaul, mobile networking (backhaul/fronthaul), optical data center networking, network virtualization and their use in customer’s networks

  • Knowledge of Mobile standards and evolution is an asset (CPRI, OBSAI, eCPRI, 4G/LTE-A, 5G, NGFI)
  • Proficient in Packet networking technologies (Carrier Ethernet, IP, MPLS, Segment Routing, E-VPN) and knowledgeable in current and emerging standards in both packet and optical domains (IEEE, MEF, IETF, ITU-T).
  • Good understand of the open ecosystem and its evolution SDN/NFV, OCP, TIP, ONAP, OpenConfig, gRPC, Netconf/YANG
  • Understanding in optical networking: WDM, OTN, FTTH.
  • Understanding of network synchronization: SyncE, IEEE 1588v2.
  • Successful track record in large-scale TELECOM technology change and adoption is highly desirable, especially in the mobile networking application space
