Role Title: WING Test Engineer 

Overview / Purpose of the Role: 

As Nokia WING Test Engineer, you will join our growing global team and play a significant role in verification and validation of IoT Network service solutions. Test Engineer will be responsible to analyse requirements and design specifications to define test scope and prepare test procedures to conduct tests based on approved processes at various test environments. 

This role works closely with architects, design leads and other project stake holders to iron out any defects in the solution. Main objective will be to improve and ensure overall quality of the delivery within the project timeframes. Reporting to Test Manager, this role will involve working in complex and fast paced projects with new technologies across number of platforms, domain areas, integrators and third parties.  

Key Responsibilities: 
• Follow defined test processes and standards to prepare strategic test plans, specify test scope and schedule tests as per requirements.  
• Setting up of test environments, developing test cases/scenarios/use cases, and executing these cases. 
• Testing all aspects of the product/system, functional and non-functional (component, features, performance, redundancy, resiliency etc) at various test levels (unit, integration and system tests).  
• Log defects and be part of triage calls to support defect resolution in a timely manner. 
• Analyse traces and message flows for fault finding and support troubleshooting of issues discovered. 
• Ensure timely and quality reports on defects, test execution status and other needed test deliverables. 
• Identify opportunities and be involved in improvement of testing processes and testing efficiency.

Experience/Skills required: 

• Good knowledge of latest mobile telecommunication technologies and its architecture and experience of working on mobile core network platforms, including IoT. 
• Technical expertise in protocols, interfaces, routings and call flows of PS/CS core networks. 
• Knowledge with Nokia network products (MSS, HLR, HSS, MME, SGW/PGW, PCRF etc.). 
• Understanding of IP networking – switch, routers, firewalls, load balancers in Telco and Enterprise environment. 
• Worked with testing of virtual network functions and understand principles of cloud-based environments. 
• Understanding of networking concepts DNS, IP connectivity, VLAN, subnetting and IPsec etc.  
• Important to have testing experience and mindset for testing applications and services. 
• Ability to identify and capture test cases/scenarios, trace test results to quality risk. 
• Ability to work in a team as well as an individual under pressure and maintain deadlines. 
• Experience in handling test equipment’s: Simulators, analysers, tracing tools, automation systems etc. 
• Must be familiar working with test management tools like Jira, HP-QC/ALM. 

Educational Requirement: 
• University degree in electrical/computer science/telecommunications engineering or equivalent. 
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation test certifications preferred.
