The team you’ll be part of

The Customer Experience (CX) organization will provide a common interface to customers including account and relationship management, acting as the voice of the customer internally and creating demand across our business groups. The CX organization structure ensures that our customers benefit from dedicated management attention and from our teams’ deep understanding of local markets. CX is also responsible for ensuring strong alignment between our customer-facing sales and delivery teams in each account.


What you will learn and contribute to

The position will be responsible to handle all legal and contractual matters for the APJ region and will also be closely aligned and be required to interface regularly with the relevant business heads, procurement & sales team and all other support functions.

Job Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Be the single point of contact for the APJ Enterprise Leadership team and Enterprise Sales teams in the region.
  • Assume ownership and accountability for overall legal and deal support for Enterprise APJ including drafting, contract structuring, negotiating and working in collaboration with country Legal and subject matter experts in the business groups and other legal functions to coordinate support across the region;
  • Manage and resolve complex enterprise contracts and RFP/Tender issues with the respective business/customers/vendors.
  • Assist in evaluating and conducting thorough due diligence for all enterprise deals and transactions and effectively develop and implement appropriate risk-mitigation strategies for the various segments in relation to Nokia's business operations.
  • Evaluate the impact of evolving legal and statutory regulations and highlight the same in real time and contribute to the business planning process.
  • This is a single contributor role and is expected to work alongside another dedicated legal and compliance resource for APJ Enterprise, as well as the larger Cx L&C team in the region.


Your skills and experience

  • Qualified lawyer in one of the following jurisdictions: Australia, Singapore, UK.
  • Minimum 10-15 years PQE
  • Trained/qualified at a top tier, reputable corporate/commercial law firm
  • Excellent academic record and working references / credentials
  • Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Experience in general ethics and compliance matters, familiarity with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and European anti-corruption laws (or commitment to develop skills/knowledge in this area)
  • Experience in Enterprise, Public Sector, IT, technology, Cloud services, data centre or telecommunications industry
  • In-house counsel experience in a global multi-national company
  • Extensive experience in drafting commercial contracts and managing negotiations with customers
  • Excellent legal skills and knowledge of contract and commercial law
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, with ability to interact and integrate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly independent and self-motivated. Influences others to support decisions. Develops and applies innovative approaches to complex or infrequently occurring problems.
  • Formulates operational guidelines to support the business teams
  • Strives for a working environment which encourages teamwork and innovation.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking by anticipating internal/external business issues and developments; uses knowledge to drive improvements
  • Proactively seeks out learning and development opportunities to develop self and team
