Nokia IT is looking for an experienced technical Solution Designer to join our digital ERP modernization program focusing on the Software Monetization Platform (SWMP), corporate memory and operational data store (ODS) model.


The primary responsibility of the solution designer is to design, develop, integrate, and maintain the SWMP, corporate memory and ODS within the context of the Nokia digital SW delivery system. The responsibilities include defining and supporting the technical entitlement management ODS model; integrating SWMP interfaces to commercial entitlement, licensing, provisioning and delivery components; and enabling control and monetization of customer entitled SW component distribution. This individual will utilize their semantic operational data store expertise to make modifications to Corporate Memory data model as the enterprise data volume continues grow and evolve; all the while, ensuring modifications continue to solve current SW monetization and future supply chain business transformation use cases. This is a lead position that will ensure implementations adhere to the next generation ERP supply chain transformation design approach principles, such as using rapid prototyping to obtain end user feedback while working in close collaboration with ERP Solution Architects and Product Owners.


Main Responsibilities:

·       Design, develop, configure, setup and integrate SWMP in the context of Digital delivery. Work closely with SWMP product owner and ERP solution architect to translate business requirements into technical solutions considering dependencies and implications to design, configuration, security, data integrity, performance and solution lifecycle.

·       Collaborate with business users to modify and maintain the Technical Entitlement Management Corporate Memory semantic data model and vocabulary definitions that solve business use cases. Participate with the business community to define the business use cases that link technical and commercial entitlement data into business logic process context and implement those use cases.

·       Operate in a continuous delivery environment producing high-quality integrated SWMP modifications ready for production environment. Integration includes system setup, configuration and testing interface changes with commercial entitlement management system, licensing functions, provisioning functions, artifact storage and Export Control/Global Trade components of the solution.

·       Implement and maintain RESTful API solutions to the data model resources using standard web-interface tools (curl), scripting languages (Python), scripting objects (json) to enable defined business value. Maintain API design documentation in Swagger and present/train on API usage to end users.

·       Ensure that overall SWMP technical solution, APIs and Corporate Memory IDS/ODS data models are aligned with the Nokia enterprise architecture, cyber security and data governance access policies. Accountable for security assessment, data governance compliance and any needed resolutions prior to use phase.

·       Work with support teams to analyse and study complex Corporate Memory data model, API and SWMP process requirements to troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing solutions.

·       Challenge solution proposals from external vendors to ensure modifications will integrate easily with existing data model designs and SWMP implementations that meet business needs while balancing with low cost of ownership.

·       Maintain best development practices for technical design, solution development, system configuration, documentation, issue identification/resolution, and simple modular design.

·       Participate in self-organized Agile development team following IT PM practices for program/project delivery.

·       Create and maintain documentation for end users as well as documents for internal use. Produce training materials and support training needs on Corporate Memory data model, APIs and SWMP development/modifications.


Key Competencies:

·       Highly independent and self-directed individual capable of working with minimal supervision.

·       Acts as a technical data model design expert and may direct the work of less senior level staff.

·       Knows tools, technologies and trends, and has broad technical application configuration skills for in-use web-interface and database landscape.

·       Desire to continuously keep informed of the latest ERP supply chain delivery technology trends as well as SW design/development/testing innovations.

·       Must have strong problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.

·       Ability to act in supportive project roles, e.g., “Project Manager”, “Scrum Master” or “Test Manager”.

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.

·       Deep technical knowledge working in the semantic database landscape which includes building data classification categories (ontology, taxonomy); data knowledge graphing, vocabulary building and visualization; data transformation integrating and linking; developing using Turtle and Owl languages; and deploying data models.

·       Minimum 5 years of Database design/development landscape experience. Experience in one or more database systems, the more the better: SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Couch DB, Maria DB, Apache DB, etc...

        Understanding of information management, data modeling, design/development methodologies, system integration, and testing.

·       Proficient in RESTful API development using Curl, Python, json and GO. Capable of using Swagger to describe, design, build and maintain APIs.

·       Experience in Agile SW development methods supporting continuous delivery of solution increments using DevOps practices and tools; must have experience with Jira and Confluence (also familiar with Git & Quality Center or similar tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Ability to apply lean Agile practices at scale using SAFe framework.

·       Familiar with Nokia SW Delivery business context and processes.

·       Knowledge of Cloud application development in MS Azure and AWS environments.
