The role of a Solution Architect is to define and document the solution architecture for a capability under development.  He/she participates in determining the system, subsystems, and interfaces, validates technology assumptions and evaluates alternatives, working closely with the business and technical delivery owners and support teams.
 
The IT Solution Architect partners with business groups, operations, and IT on solution architecture design and keeps the alignment between enterprise architecture blueprint, recommendations, and solution implementation. Provides system architecture and design specifications as well as solutions to support business and operating models and other architectural or security aspects.  
 
Nokia is seeking a senior solution architect to join the IT Business Application Master Data Team.  Master Data is a key priority in the journey is to define, optimize and deliver the range of new Master Data Management platforms including moving from traditional on-premise to cloud-based applications.

 

Master Data is a foundational element of our Enterprise Data and is key to many areas of digital transformation. It covers multiple data domains like Product, Customer, Supplier, and Finance Master Data.  The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the master data application suppliers and solutions along with technical experience and background in master data application design, development, and delivery.

 
Main areas of responsibility:
  • Act as a trusted architect advising and partnering with business, operations and IT stakeholders on the evolution of the master data application roadmap.
  • Captures business requirements and creates a cohesive vision of a usable solution that is fit for purpose and that works within the enterprise architecture technical boundaries
  • Defines, documents and maintains solution design proposals. This includes analyzing technical trade-offs, determining the primary components and subsystems, and identifying the interfaces and collaborations
  • Assures solution aligns with strategic direction and EA principles by partnering with business and IT on solution architecture design and driving common alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Ensures technical integrity and consistency of the solution on every stage of its lifecycle.
  • Solves highly complex problems and develops original, innovative solutions with broad impact on the business
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to analyze ideas and demands for architectural fit and contributes to cost/benefit analysis and estimation documents
  • Develops the full scope of the solution working across organizational boundaries to achieve workable solutions.
  • Ensure all developments are fully documented, meet high level design requirements, as well as regulatory & industry standards so projects are fit for purpose.
  • Anticipates internal and external business challenges and / or regulatory issues and drives improvements that create competitive advantage
  • For solutions provided by an external vendor, the solution architect will take the lead role in reviewing and discussing all technical solution designs to ensure they meet the needs of the program and Nokia EA standards & Guidelines



Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ideally has an advanced degree in an engineering or technical disciple, with additional degree or certificate in a related IT discipline.
  • 5+ years minimum experience in IT solution architecture, solution design, business analysis, consulting, or related experience in master data and/or data management application domains.
  • Proven record working in a technology team in the solution architecture  or solution designer role delivering medium to large development projects from concept to deployment.
  • Is a Lean-Agile Leader who understands the complexities of large-scale solution development and applies Lean-Agile principles and practices to address them
  • Enriches professional expertise with profound knowledge of the market, industry, competition and / or technology environment in the area of specialization
  • Expert knowledge of basic tools related to application architecture, and data architecture and modeling.
  • To facilitate a fast learning curve some understanding of master data applications like Dassault Enovia PLM and data management and data quality processes is desired.
  • Good understanding and an ability to develop a working knowledge of IT applications from suppliers such as SAP, Salesforce, and related supply chain processes.
  • Understands or has experience working in programs that moved from traditional on-premise applications to cloud-based or cloud-native IaaS/PaaS/SaaS solutions
  • Experience using PowerBI or similar tool for project and business analytic
  • Knows how to communicate to executive level.
  • Ability to find common ground in complex situations, negotiating skills
  • Ability to work through conflicts at all levels, conflict resolution
  • Experience in dealing with broad cultural and geographic spectrum
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
