SoC IMPLEMENTATION TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

 

The team you'll be part of

 

Our Mobile Networks Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will be part of our Digital Front End (DFE) ASIC team where more than 100 professionals are working on Nokia ReefShark family of System-on-Chips (SoC): ReefShark | Nokia Networks

 

We are responsible of custom silicon which is a key element in our strategy to gain technology leadership in 5G networks. We are working with state-of-the art tools and have access to latest silicon technologies. Our team is diverse with 13 different nationalities represented. Working language is English.

 

What you will learn and contribute to

 

We are looking for experienced implementation technical specialist. An engineer who is willing to do and lead SoC implementation activities and capable to use the needed tools.  9+ years of SOC/FPGA implementation experience is expected. In addition, any experience with SoC/FPGA/IP development is considered as an advantage. In this position you should have the motivation and skills to lead, support, teach and coach less experienced implementation engineers. 

 

Basic requirements for implementation technical specialist are very good understanding and practical experience of synthesis, STA, timing closure and formal verification. Role, compensation and job grade will be tailored according to your experience and  competence.

 

You are ready to share your knowledge and skills with the people you work with. You are a team player but can also work independently. You communicate well in a multi-cultural team in English.

 

As part of our team, you will:

  • Participate in outlining System-on-Chip top-level activities
  • Work with various design groups across different disciplines (RTL design, verification, DFT & layout) to meet timing closure, area, power, and performance requirements.
  • Perform logic synthesis, logic equivalence checking, static timing analysis, power estimation and hand-off checks using best-in-class methodologies
  • Analyze log and report files to ensure the tools are getting the required results
  • Develop the scripts to get the required results within the scheduled milestones
  • Advising RTL designers and junior implementation designers related to constraints, timing closure & vendor requirements

 

Your skills and experience

 You have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong hands-on experience from SoC development and complete understanding of the SoC design flow and process
  • Good understanding of Linux environment and RTL requirements for synthesis
  • Good experience of scripting languages like TCL, Python, Perl
  • Good working attitude and co-operation skills in a multi-cultural team
  • Fluent spoken and written English

 

It would be nice if you also had some of these skills:

  • Low power understanding
  • Experience of DFT, P&R or floor plannin
  • Knowhow of packages, thermal, testing, product engineering
