Global Lead Counsel, Privacy
Job Requirements:
7 years or more of post-qualification experience with demonstrated experience in the areas of privacy and data protection.
Experience with European and international privacy and data protection regimes is strongly preferred, as is experience operating in a global corporate environment. A combination of relevant law firm and in-house legal experience is preferred.
Previous experience in the telecommunications or technology industry or an adjacent field.
- Understanding of existing and emerging technologies and platforms including, e.g., big data analytics, IOT, cloud computing, AI and SaaS required.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about new technologies and the ability to assess risks and provide concise business-focused legal advice in relation to emerging technologies and trends.
- Experience in designing and implementing a privacy compliance program
- Experience in conducting privacy reviews and privacy impact assessments
- Fluency in English. Additional European language skills are considered a plus

Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to create and sustain lasting relationships with internal customers and management, including ability to make presentations at the senior executive and Board level

Ability to work in a complex, matrix organization and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Highly collaborative but also able to work independently with minimal supervision or day-to-day direction
Understanding of essential elements of effective compliance programs, including training, communications, risk assessments, audits, concern reporting, investigations, and discipline
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key regulators and enforcement officials
Ability to work in a global organization and comfort dealing with wide range of cultures, languages, time zones and work styles
Ability to travel (up to 30% depending on where the role will be based)
Ability to achieve results while navigating a complex bureaucracy
Ability to spot emerging trends and risks and proactively develop solutions and sound risk mitigation measures
