The team you'll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

RF Development Unit (RF DU) is part of Mobile Networks Business Group and responsible for development of RF products (HW and SW).

RF A&S (Architecture & Specification) is one unit inside RF DU with global presence in Finland, Poland, US, and China. We are responsible for technical analysis for radio products, clarifying and stabilizing the Radio interfaces as well as translating reference architecture, roadmap and network vision into system specifications and system/product architecture descriptions.

We have around 100 professionals working in RF A&S and we constantly improve our processes and ways of working to achieve world class working environment in terms of quality, efficiency, competencies, innovation, team spirit and accountability.  

 

 

 

What you will learn and contribute to

We are looking for a Fault Manager to lead fault management and fault coordination activities in a RF A&S organization, interacting with other Business Units. The Fault Manager will be inside an organizational unit consisting of Architecture (HW and SW) and Specification Squad Groups which belong to RF A&S Tribe. The Fault Manager will be cooperating with R&D teams (Developers and Test engineers), other A&S teams, Fault Coordinators, other Fault Managers, Project Managers and Program Managers, in the scope of issues prioritization, symptoms collection and verification of corrections, as well as administration of related tools in accordance with defined Fault Management processes and guidelines. Additionally, in the scope of this role, will be dealing with administration aspects related to fault management.

Activities:

- Fault Management activities within own area

- ensure fault handling is executed all over the organization according to Fault management process and according to applicable plans

- single point of contact person for any query related to bugs/reports/investigation requests towards RF A&S

- fault correction prioritization

- checking fix/solution availability and updating required tools/statuses

- cooperating with Architects, Specification engineers and other stakeholders in RF A&S

- verifying fault reports correctness and checking delivered content against Nokia’s internal standard

- follow-up and reporting of the Fault situation

- responsible for hosting Fault Management meetings to gather status of faults or to share updates regarding FM process and main topics

- ensure that Fault related quality data is consistent and report delivery/milestone status from faults perspective

- contribute to Fault metrics & KPIs definition

- contributes to quality management

- promotes best practice sharing across tribe and squads, contributes to best practice pool of knowledge

 

Your skills and experience

Requirements

- BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering and / or Project Management

- understanding basics of the Software Development Lifecycle, including incremental models (e.g. agile)

- excellent knowledge of MN Fault Managements Process

- basic understanding of SW architecture including System Components Groups roles

- basic knowledge of Requirement analysis and Requirement management processes

- hands-on experience with fault management/coordination

- problem solving attitude and ability to make decision even in ambiguous situation

- self-reliance and self-discipline

- organizational skills, leadership skills and effective communication skills

- willing to learn new things and discover new ways of doing

- fluent English, both spoken and written
