Radio Frequency Layer 1 Low Software Tribe is looking for motivated professionals for the position of SW engineer. 


The team you'll be part of


Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).


RF L1Low SW is responsible for specifying, designing, implementing, testing and maintaining radio products’ software for LTE and 5G radio access technologies and for massive MIMO and beam forming functionalities. We are divided into self-organizing scrum teams, working in Agile environment. Our products are developed mainly in C++, including those close to hardware. A common and clearly defined vision, open communication and a deep passion for innovation are the features that best describe our work environment and its unique atmosphere. RF L1Low Tribe is over two hundred persons and almost ten different nationalities community. Our collaboration with multiple teams is both local and global. We play a key role for implementing new technologies for customers. Now we are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and talented persons to join our RF L1Low SW tribe. You will have state of the art tools and methods available for your job with highly motivated and experienced team.


What you will learn and contribute to


You may contribute also for SW specification and implementation as SW testing and CI development. We are expecting high competence from earlier career on SW development and high knowledge what comes on C++ and SW development tools. Your detailed role will be determined based on your experience and interest, and you are member of SW development team.


Main responsibility is development of RF unit SW for Nokia 5G products together with our global teams.


Your tasks include

  • Design and implementation of RF software based on feature specifications
  • Code reviews
  • Fault analysis and correction
  • Product maintenance and continuous improvement



Your skills and experience


You have:

BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Software Engineering or similar
Problem solving skills and knowledge of C++ concepts or strong skills in maths/physics

Strong interest and desire to learn C++ and SW design
Ability to break problems down into small chunks and create tasks to drive them to completion.
Ability to investigate/debug and active in generating better/new ways of working

Flexible mindset and a focus on the customer
Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience of design patterns 
  • Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Experience in continuous integration, Jenkins, GIT/Gerrit and Robot Framework
  • Knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies
  • Industry experience with C++ and software design
