About Mobile Networks

 Mobile Networks, which includes mobile network products, network deployment and technical support services, and related network management. This business group will offer the full portfolio for customers wanting to buy mobile access networks. It target leadership in key technologies such as 5G, ORAN and vRAN.


Our team in Oulu RF R&D is responsible for RF unit development for Nokia 5G products. Oulu area is one of the leading radio research hot spots globally. It uses the radio ecosystem in trialling the latest technologies and solutions with the customers. We in RF R&D Oulu are around two hundred persons with eleven different nationalities. Our collaboration with multiple teams is both local and global.  Now we are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and talented persons to join our RF unit development teams. You will have state of the art tools and methods available for your job with highly motivated and experienced team.

General purpose

We are looking for several experienced, enthusiastic and talented RF SW Engineers to join our R&D team.

You may contribute as well for SW specification and implementation as SW testing and CI development. Your detailed role will be determined based on your experience and interest.

Main responsibility is development of RF unit for Nokia 5G products together with our global teams.

Your tasks include

- Design and implementation of RF software based on feature specifications
- Code reviews
- Fault analysis and correction
- Product maintenance and continuous improvement


- BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
- Some experience in C/C++ software design in embedded systems 
- Basic knowledge of embedded Linux
- Basic knowledge in debugging and problem solving 
- Good knowledge of version control systems 
- Understanding of software architecture basics
- Strong analytical skills 
- Effective teamwork skills 
- Good communication in English (written and spoken)

 Following competences are seen beneficial
  -Knowledge or earlier experience of 3GPP standards and radio technologies
  -Knowledge of CPRI interface 
 - Knowledge of RF measurements and equipment
 - Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python)
 - Experience in continuous integration, Jenkins and Robot Framework
 - Experience in continuous integration
