General Purpose of the Role 


Domain Architect position focused on being a Subject Matter Expert in the services delivery team for device management product portfolio for Nokia Software business group. Device management products includes Home Device Manager (HDM) , a device management platform for fixed line devices and Connected Device Platform (CDP) is a device management platform which provide large enterprises to effectively, efficiently, and securely manage a wide range of devices across multiple domains like Mobile, IOT and M2M.


Key Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise in the Device Management space
  • Engage with customer to understand, analysis the deployment requirements and provide technical guidance to formulate the solution
  • Provides technical expertise to Customer on ongoing business operations on device management
  • Protects and furthers the Company’s excellent service reputation.
  • Self-starter: Scopes and defines tasks, schedules and delivers on time with quality delighting customer
  • Researches and follows up on technical issues related to deliverables; informs, communicates and trains associates
  • Proactive, self-driven and motivated to learn
  • Eager to step outside the comfort zone and take on challenges.
  • Not afraid to question and challenge things in the pursuit of continuous improvement
  • Person who thrives on technology and learning new areas in the Device management and IoT space
  • Lead by example by producing high quality deliverables and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate things easily, should be able to lead a technical discussion with customer


 Location: Candidate should be located in: Murray Hill, NJ; or Austin, TX.

Required Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)   

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
  • At least 6 years of experience within areas of professional services, systems engineering, architecture, product deployments
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to manage deliverables in ambiguity and work with the team/customer in charting a course/resolution path forward
  • Knowledge and experience with the professional services project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/test), experience working in a fast paced agile environment is a plus
  • Overall 6+ years of experience in at least two of the following domains
    • J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with one of the following application servers (Weblogic, JBOSS, Websphere)
    • HTML, XML, DHTML, JSON, JavaScript (including jQuery UI library, functional objects, state machines)
    • Web services, BIRT, EJB, REST, Oracle DB, PL/SQL, NoSQL, BigData querying and other related technologies
    • Networking (knowledge of communication protocols, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc)
  • Should have 3 years’ experience in RDBMS. PL/SQL
  • Should have 1 year of development support experience.
  • Should have a go-getter attitude, should have analytical thinking,
  • Should take ownership of work assigned and deliver with utmost standard.
  • Experience in following domains
    • MS Office Suite with expertise in Excel and Powerpoint
    • Data analysis and inference skill to pin point trends, pattern and present analysis to customer
    • Source control systems (CVS, SVN etc.) and build related tools
  • Prior experience with Nokia DX products (CDP, SMP, HDM, MAS/HAL) or OMA-DM/TR069/LWM2M device management protocols is a huge plus.
  • Programming experience and Oracle/Reporting/Business analyst experience a plus
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, customer interfacing, leadership and management skills
  • Ability to travel.
