Job Description: Department Head, High-Speed Analog Devices, III-V Labs
• Support a research team driving the design and fabrication of High Speed Analog and Digital Interface devices as part of Global Bell Labs team and in support of the Bell Labs Vision with an aspiration for fundamental and disruptive innovation.
• Participate in support of the larger III/V group including other Nokia members as well as those from the other companies in the III/V JV from Thales and CEA Leti.
• People management (8 people)
• Technical management, including project management
• Active contribution to the construction of project proposals
• Reporting and communication (to peers, upper and lower levels)
Job Responsibilities & Competencies:
Qualifications
• 5-year experience minimum required in: people management and/or collaborative research project management (as leader or work-package leader), or any other experience in management of direct or indirect people reports.
• Track record of achievements in Applied Research and/or leading-edge R&D activities, including scientific/technical publications and/or patents
• Minimum experience of 5 years in high frequency integrated circuits or other devices or sub-systems for high speed communication applications (like fiber-optic and/or wireless communication systems)
• Experience and/or knowledge in the following fields would be a plus
o microwave (RF) and/or optoelectronics engineering
o high frequency transistor technologies, or other devices or circuits as well as their characterizations, modeling methods and CAD tools
• agility in human relationship, empathy, communication, vision sharing, empowerment
• ability to conduct leading-edge research in a complex, demanding and fast-changing technical environment • autonomy and ability to manage ambiguity
• written and spoken communication in both French and English
• PhD in Microwave (or Semiconductor Material, Telecom, or other relevant) Engineering
