Customs Operation Specialist

Job Description:

The candidate would be responsible to handle compliance activity predominantly custom clearance of import and export shipments, which involves monitoring day to day shipments, maintain, submission of data and documentation as per customs rules and regulation. Also, responding on queries raised by customs officials, prioritizing the shipment clearances based on Nokia requirements.

 Roles & Responsibilities, Requirements: 

• Should have prior hand’s on experience in handling the customs clearance activity with sound knowledge on India Customs Act, Valuation rules, documentation requirement, process and procedures. Follow up for Duty Payment and reconciliation of the same.

• Customs clearance activity involves clearance from SEZ, EOU, FTWZ, direct imports etc and should be ready to face challenges if any to process the shipment for custom clearance.

• Should have sound knowledge of handling licenses like EPCG, IGCR, MEIS which involves keeping track on all the shipments using these licenses and closing of licenses without any remainders from Statutory Authorities.

• Should gain knowledge of the Nokia requirements and should apply his experience to make sure the required procedures and process are followed at the time of customs clearance of import and export shipments.

• Should have sound knowledge of applicability of HSN codes based on description and functionality of the products. He should also be able to keep a track of all notifications published by Indian Customs and should be able to take duty exemptions against notification wherever possible.

• Should be able to handle multiple activities.

• Should have good relationship with the customs officials at the respective ports for speedy customs clearance of our import and export shipments. He should be ready to respond queries raised by the customs officials with the necessary technical write-up’s.

• Should have Good command on written and spoken English communication.
