Within Nokia, the IP/Optical Networks (ION) business group provides the high-performance and massively scalable networks that underpin the digital world’s dynamic interconnectivity. Communications Service Providers (CSPs) leverage our IP, optical and SDN solutions to build these networks to deliver their entire suite of mobile and fixed broadband, video and networking services for their customers. In addition, IP/Optical Networks addresses the needs of webscale companies and enterprises. In the enterprise segment, it addresses verticals like energy, transport, public sector, healthcare and finance. These mission-critical networking needs are satisfied with IP, Optical and Nuage Networks portfolios. Nokia is a global leader in IP and optical networking, with revenues exceeding 4B Euro in 2018, contributing 20% of the total revenues of Nokia’s networks business.  

 

We are searching for an individual with a demonstrated ability to build and execute engaging and effective executive communications programs. This person will need to work independently to design and deliver an executive communications plan to support the ION Business Group leaders. In addition, this person will also be responsible for steering the internal communications plan to drive interaction with the ION BG employees. 

 

The aim is to develop high-quality, agile communications to increase executive and employee engagement as the corporation embraces the changing business environment. The position holder also needs to drive the transformation towards digital and mobile communication methods. The successful candidate is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing executive and internal communications strategies to support our key initiatives.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develops rapport and credibility with business partners, in particular the ION BG Presidents

  • Responsible for BG executive narrative, speeches and presentations

  • Ensure steady and engaging communication flow to ION BG employees on topics of BG strategy, achievements, priorities, change, and HR-related topics, working closely with BG content owners

  • Create opportunities for BG President participation in internal and external forums, discussions, town halls, conferences etc

  • Develops schedules and budgets and effectively tasks people. Can handle complexities in queue among multiple channels, content creators, and/or agencies.

  • Effectively select the most beneficial channel mix depending on audience and desired outcomes. Adept with influencer model, effectively using people as channels and means of communications

  • Build and grow employee communities and ambassador groups to find more effective solutions to business problems

  • Develop measurement criteria and processes to effectively evaluate the impact of internal communications programs on engagement

  • Act as a senior subject matter expert, typically is the most senior communications expert who serves as best practice / quality resource and is an acknowledged authority both within and outside own organizational unit

     

 

Qualifications   

 

The role requires proven skills to drive initiatives across cultures, teams, geographies and generations. The position holder should have the ability to grasp, prioritize and simplify complex issues. S/he should have experience in executive and internal communications in an international environment and strong writing skills to create compelling messaging. A key task of the role is to evaluate and apply new and innovative approaches to reaching audiences.

      

The role works closely with business leaders to convert their communications challenges into actionable plans, building and reinforcing the corporate culture and supporting HR, legal and ethics communications.

      

The Business Group internal communications lead must also communicate Nokia messages working with the corporate communications and HR teams.  

      

Requirements:

 

• Native level English speaker with excellent writing and messaging skills

 

• Degree in Communications, journalism, or other relevant discipline

 

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in communications

 

• Knowledge and experience in telecoms and data networking industry, knowledge and experience in IP routing business is highly desirable

 

• Thorough understanding of executive and internal communications in a corporation

 

  Experience working in an international company

 

  Leadership experience, including leading virtual teams

 

• Experience in managing change communications and integration projects

 

• Strong networking, presentation and social media skills

 

• Ability to leverage digital tools and channels in internal communications

 

• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize

 

• Ability to grasp and simplify complex issues

 

• Team player with a cool head under pressure

 

• Energizing and innovative leader

 

• Strong cultural understanding
