Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).


What you will learn and contribute to

Job Description

You will work as a member of a Specification team in Nokia Base Station R&D / Base Band Platform unit in Oulu.

Your main responsibilities will be definition, analysis and specification of new products and related features for different radio access technologies. Your specification domain would be in BTS Synchronization area.


Characteristics of your daily work in our team:

  • Fully international work environment: in our unit we have teams is Finland, France, Poland and China. (also, we have several international members in our local Finland/Oulu teams)
  • You will be part of the Synchronization Specification team. Our Oulu team is forming a virtual team (daily co-working) with the colleagues in other locations
  • We use the modern agile methods: Sprint based planning, commitments and execution of specification tasks
  • Specification environment: Requirement management tools + modelling design tools
  • Work phases: Architecture analysis, requirement management / writing, design specification with modelling tools, SW development and verification team’s support. Also, problem solving and debugging.
  • The first weeks will be organized as the induction period for: Trainings, hands-on briefing, peer working and tutoring. We will take good care of you.



Your skills and experience


  • Experience or interest on writing requirements, defining UML-specifications
  • Experience or interest to learn about specifying, planning and designing functionalities in own responsibility area
  • Experience or interest to learn solving complex engineering problems
  • Effective teamworking skills are essential
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Software technology or an equivalent area

Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) is mandatory and willingness to work in a multicultural environment is must.

You can also be recently graduated, or at final stage in your studies. We will provide tutoring & close support for your career start.
