About Cloud & Network Services

Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia’s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.

 

 

Job Description

As a DevOps engineer, you will be in key role to develop release process and Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline to ensure our SW deliveries to  customers

Job Responsibilities & Competencies

Specific requirements:

  • Strong development experience, preferably around system configuration and management using frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt
  • Good understanding of modern distributed systems architectures
  • Experience in distributed systems development
  • Fluency with at least one of the following programming languages: Scala, Golang, Java, Python
  • Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and k8s
  • Used to working in a Linux environment
  • Track record of open source contributions is highly valued
  • Experience in working in private cloud environment is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure core components: Storage, system and/or Networking
  • Understanding of network security and DDoS prevention
  • Experience in using IT automation and DevOps toolchains, site reliability and/or infrastructure engineering
  • Understanding of general largescale distributed services and infrastructure, from network designs to overall system architecture
  • Experience with cloud computing environments, ie. AWS, GCP and/or Azure.
  • Advanced understanding of general infrastructure operation, and ability to work with the team to incident resolution, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment.
  • Familiarity with modern agile software development practices

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, test, deploy and improve leading edge cloud infrastructure
  • Deploy automation tools for infrastructure deployment and assist the various technology teams
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical assistance and education for both team members and other coworkers on operations best practices
  • Support and encourage a rigorous testing environment, working closely with peers to support infrastructure and application stability
  • Continuously work to improve infrastructure and application stability
  • Use infrastructureas-code and scripting methodologies wherever possible
  • Document, review and recommend enhancements to existing infrastructure, processes and methodology in order to reduce complexity and improve stability
  • Function as a member of the Incident Response Team as required
  • Perform oncall duties on a rotational basis and as required to make sure that there is adequate uptime for all production services
  • Solve complex engineering problems in own technology area
  • Coach other team members in DevOps pipeline issues
  • May undertake technical training responsibilities
  • Cooperation with SW development teams and internal customers by supporting own expertise area
 

Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Technology or equivalent education
  • Experience of automation tools for CI pipelines and test automation
  • Software Development Lifecycle understanding
  • SW development and scripting experience
  • Experience working in Linux, Git environment
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken)

Advantages:

  • Experience with agile and XP practices
  • Working experience with containers like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm etc.  
  • Knowledge of SW development process and lifecycle
