The team you'll be part of
Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia’s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.
Job Description
The Digital Automation organization as a part of Nokia Enterprise Solutions creates cutting-edge solutions for plug & play private industrial wireless, cellular networks and add-on applications for private enterprises and the public sector.
We are now looking for a hands-on 4G/5G micro vnf software architect to develop our cloud-based 4G/5G network solution. The 4G/5G micro vnf solution is built on modern technologies, like Kubernetes, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery, and is compact in size scaling down to very small HW footprint deployments. Your work will focus on creating architecture and developing new features into 4G/5G micro vnf network. Additionally, your responsibilities include verification of functionality within the system.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Working as an architect in 4G/5G micro vnf SW architecture & development team
- Design, SW development and testing of 4G/5G micro vnfs for private networks
- Proactive interaction globally with colleagues inside and outside of own organization
Qualifications
- B.Sc. degree (or higher) in telecommunications, information technology or related discipline
- Deep experience with micro core networks software architecture
- Deep experience in wireless communication systems in areas of 3GPP network architectures, interfaces and protocols (at least LTE and 5G). Broad understanding of big picture as well as details.
- Several years of professional C++ SW design and development experience
- In-depth experience in SW development lifecycle: design, implementation, integration, testing, troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience of SW development with modern environments and tools, like Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline, Golang and C/C++
- Proficient with SW development tools such as compilers, debuggers, building tools and profiling tools on top of Linux as well as competent in command-line interfaces (shell, xterm, scripts, etc.)
- Familiar with telecom standards and capability to utilize them in practical design, development and debugging.
- Understanding of commercial cellular network component implementations (core, RAN, services)
